Vegas, Here I come!

So I’m super excited and sad all at once. I’m going to Las Vegas for the first time this week, but I’m going without the hubby. šŸ˜¦ šŸ˜¦ Seriously, this is not going to be cool!

However, he is letting me go to a show while I’m there and I CAN’T WAIT!!! I got a ticket for Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular and I just know it’s going to be fabulous. I’ve never seen it before.

I’m going to this Social Media conference, which I assume will be fantastic. I plan on eating some good food and enjoying my sweet room at the Wynn. Again, how fun will this be without Ollie?!

i’m going to miss my boys!

Sweet Redemption

Today I “consulted” a man with his organization and I totally redeemed myself as far as why I’m in the marketing industry. I’m thinking to myself, “What am I going to be able to tell him?” Yet we rattled on for a couple of hours.

It’s a nice feeling to know that you have knowledge that others want to learn from you.

Now that I’m back at work, I haveĀ a fresh outlook on where I’m at in this fiasco and feel better.

I half expected the man to offer me a job at the end of our meeting, but he did not. Not sure if I would take it (or if he could afford me, thank you), but it would have been a nice gesture. Who knows, maybe that will help me in the future.

What a week!

There are days in my job that I think…am I really doing this?? And then I realize that I am.

It’s just that I can still remember in high school wondering in what city I would be a news anchor, and now I’m trying to avoid those people. Unfortunately, people aren’t perfect and some people thrive off of that. I, for one, get very nauseous thinking about how crude and disrespectful people can treat each other. I want to yell, “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?”

But I digress.

Someone just came in my daycare to drop off their kids…ok, so that’s my metaphor for people who want me to do a project for them, but they just drop it off and then come back for the completed deal. So, I’m off to my first event of the weekend–pageant consulting! It’s a lot of fun and the family I’m working with is fantastic.

Tomorrow’s hosting a baby shower and dinner for a friend’s birthday. I’ve got to clean my house at some point!

In the Beginning…

Ollie &Ā PaigeĀ Crosby &Ā IngramDon’t just talk the talk! Walk the walk! How many times did I hear THAT in my church youth group. So I’ve been doing a lot of research and reading lately on social media. How much should I use at my organization? Is it all just a bunch of goobledy gop, or is it the next big thing like the “internet.” That’s the magic answer I’m trying to figure out.

Regardless, I figured that I couldn’t possibly talk about all of the new hype without experiencing it myself. So here goes my first blog!

My husband, David, and I have been married for seven months now and we are loving it. I just said last night how different our love is now that we are married versus when we were dating. David’s nickname is Ollie (his middle name is Oliver) and that’s probably how I’ll refer to him from now on. We have two adorable, sweet dogs: Crosby, a Jack Russell Terrier, and Ingram, a Wiemeraner (sp?). You’d think I’d know how to spell it by now. Crosby is almost three and Ingram just turned two. My little babies.

Life happens fast and furious in our world so my blog might be little spurts of news or big novels of the latest drama.
